My name is Terry Silveus. I am a graduate of the University of Idaho. I received a
B. S. in Elementary Education on May 5, 2008, and a Masters in Education (MEd.) in Curriculum and Instruction on December 10, 2012. I also have endorsements in earth science, math, and literacy. In addition to these degrees, I hold three applied science degrees and a general studies degree. The applied science degrees include

These degrees were all earned in 1994. I spent twenty years as a successful computer software engineer. Therefore I have the skills to integrate technology into the classroom to help make teaching and learning successful, and to prepare students for success in a 21st century environment. Currently, I am working on a masters degree in environmental science. During my first year at Buhl Middle School, I taught 8th grade Earth Science. Currently I am teaching 6th grade general science at Buhl Middle School. I am looking forward to the new year.

My educational courses at the University of Idaho have given me the necessary theoretical knowledge and practical experience for teaching. I have taught third, fourth, fifth, sixth, and seventh grade classes in several Idaho schools as part of my coursework at the University of Idaho. I have prepared year-long curriculum in science for fifth and sixth grade, in addition to math, social studies, literature, art, music, and other individual lesson plans. In addition to methods courses in math, science, social studies, art, music and literature, which gave me the venue to apply what I have learned by going into the schools to teach lessons on finding patterns in numbers, the rock cycle, the theories of how Native Americans arrived on the continent, origami (and how math is applied to paper folding), and various literacy lessons. Additionally, I homeschooled both my children at the elementary and secondary levels. Experience with my own children gives me common ground for communicating with parents and to become partners with them towards the goal of creating lifelong learners and helping their children succeed. Coupled with these assets, is my ability to create websites and incorporate computer use and other technology in the classroom.
